Module 4 – Global Analysis. gives methods to determine internal forces and moments. Elastic analysis according to first order theory is assumed to be known and is not discussed in the book. Analysis according to the theory of second order effects is discussed with focus on how to treat imperfections. Plastic hinge theory is fully covered regarding methods and conditions. The module also discuss the use of FEM for non-linear analysis combined with verification of the load-carrying capacity.
