New Course: Extreme Loads

How do steel and aluminium structures perform when exposed to impact, explosions, collisions, or other extreme events? As critical infrastructure faces growing risks from accidents, climate-related events, and intentional threats, engineers need a deeper understanding of structural behaviour under exceptional loading conditions.

This advanced one-day course provides both practical and theoretical knowledge on the response of steel and aluminium structures subjected to impact, blast, and other extreme loads. Participants will gain valuable insights into structural behaviour, design principles, modelling techniques, and methods for evaluating engineering solutions when conventional design approaches are no longer sufficient.

The course is delivered online by Professor Emeritus Magnus Langseth (NTNU, Norway), internationally recognised for his pioneering work in impact engineering, crashworthiness, and blast-loaded structures.
