SBI research and development

The Swedish Institute of Steel Construction has been involved in many R&D projects during the years. The main goal is always efficiency. All projects should result in increased market shares through more efficient processes and/or more efficient material use! Our projects are often initiated by our members and are always executed in close collaboration with some or larger groups of member companies.

The funding of the R&D projects mainly comes from big R&D financiers and Foundations, like the RFCS (Research Fund for Coal and Steel), SBUF, Formas and Vinnova together with contributions from the industry through our member companies.
