The activities at SBI are built upon the industry engagement. Among the SBI members there are companies from all over the construction market, e.g. the building contractors, the consulting engineers and also producers of building materials and other complementing products. The steel industry is also well represented by steel producers, steel fabricators, thin plate producers and steel stockholders.
The SBI activities are handled by a Foundation, Stiftelsen Svensk Stålbyggnadsforskning. The SBI members are Foundation partners, and pay an annual fee to the Foundation. These fees are about one third of the SBI turnover.
A major aim of the SBI activities is to strengthen the competitiveness for the members on the Swedish, and the international, construction- and steel markets. Through the close collaboration with the members, SBI refines the member competences and experiences. |
